“Boris the Llama”

inspiration

The jumbled orange hair of a certain British politician inspired the devil-may-care coif of this camelid. Boris and I got to be great friends as he watched me creating him.

I built an armature of chicken wire with ears of acrylic sheeting, then covered the neck and face in foil to give a surface for extra heavy gesso. The eyes are wooden beads and the nose is Apoxy sculpting clay. The fur and grass he is munching are yarn dipped in gesso and painted with acrylic paint.
